Infrastructure Projects Update

2021 Project Updates

The City of Bondurant has undergone an overhaul the past few years including the SW District Infrastructure enhancements, the NW Trunk Sewer adjustments, and NE Storm Sewer upgrades. The city is investing in maintaining the old along with investing in the new. Access details about the city’s projects as progress is made by clicking here.

The SW District Project began March 12, 2020, and was completed November 13, 2020. A lot of enhancements were made during such a short period of time. Streets were upgraded to include storm sewer, water main adjustments, and major street and trail upgrades. Traffic lights were installed, a street tree canopy was installed (included over 73 trees), a robust amount of native prairie was planted, and a lot of earthwork was done. The NW Trunk Sewer adjustments included building an additional sewer trunk line. A sewer trunk line receives wastewater from many tributary branches and sewer lines and serves as an outlet for a large territory or is used to feed an intercepting sewer. This project began in the Spring of 2020 and was completed in Spring 2021.

The NE Storm Sewer Project began May 11, 2020, and was completed in September 2021. This project was designed to increase the size of the storm sewer pipe and to reroute the stormwater from Arbor Ridge, connecting to Mud Creek and connecting to the detention pond at Pleasant Grove.
