Mosquito Control in Bondurant

Mosquito Image

Public Works staff use data provided by Iowa State University Entomology Department along with ground observations to initiate spray conditions.  Mosquito Control in Bondurant is scheduled to begin this evening and Friday, then will begin the Tuesday/Thursday rotation next week.

Mosquito Control does not guarantee that the community will be free of mosquito nuisance after the execution of the mosquito control plan. This attempts to maintain an adequate level of comfort in the summer activity months for residents and visitors to the community.

The City of Bondurant will allow a resident to apply for a request not to spray in front of their residence under the following conditions:

  • The resident must apply for the request prior to the start of the spraying season.
  • The resident must obtain written permission from all adjacent residences within a 300 hundred foot radius of their property.

No Spray Request forms are available here: Request for No Spray Form

Adult mosquitos are active during the daytime hours but become the most addressive around dusk or sunset.

The community is divided into two spray zones that are to be sprayed on a set schedule so that the public can plan their outdoor activities accordingly.
