A Message from the Mayor

Hello Bondurant! I am honored to share the remarkable progress and exciting developments that Bondurant has achieved over the past year.

With an outstanding school system and amazing civic organizations, Bondurant’s community fabric is stronger than ever!

Notable accomplishments made this year include:

  • Lower property taxes (16th year in a row!)
  • Secured nearly $3M in outside funding for various City projects and programs.
  • Even stronger financial condition through the achievement of another increase in our bond rating.
  • $1B in total valuation threshold surpassed.
  • Expanding public art initiatives.
  • Hired an Economic Development Coordinator
  • Expanded our footprint by adding nearly 1,000 acres to our community.
  • Completed and initiated multiple key infrastructure projects.
  • Improved quality of life through numerous park projects and amenities.
  • Securing the future of our water supply and minimizing future increases in our water rates.

 

In recognition of these accomplishments, Bondurant has received several prestigious awards, including the American Planning Association-Iowa Chapter 2023 Urban Design Award for the Civic Campus Master Plan, the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, and the International City/County Management Association Program Excellence Award, among others. These accolades underscore our commitment to excellence and innovation in city planning and governance.

Bondurant has been on an incredible journey, marked by the creation of over 4,000 jobs since 2017. In addition, the commercial and industrial valuation has soared by an astonishing 829%, culminating in Bondurant breaking the $1 Billion valuation mark this year.

But our journey is far from over. Bondurant has numerous exciting projects on the horizon that will further enhance our community's growth and vitality.

Throughout the year, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions about any city projects.  Please join us at Council or City board meeting and/or participate within any number of the civic organizations within our community.
