Holiday & Cemetery Decoration Schedule

It is important to commemorate your loved ones, and decorating their graves is one way to do that. The City of Bondurant’s goal is to keep the cemetery grounds and plots in good condition for all patrons. Together, we can maintain a beautiful, well-kept, and contemplative environment for all visitors.


In preparation for the holiday gravesite clean-up, please follow the 2023 schedule below:
 

  • Memorial Day (last Monday in May)– have all decorations, not attached to the gravestone, removed by May 15th and decorating can begin again on May 19th  

  • July 4th - have all decorations, not attached to the gravestone, removed by June 20th, and decorating can begin again on June 24th  

  • Labor Day(first Monday of September) – have all decorations, not attached to the gravestone, removed by August 21st and decorating can begin again on August 25th 

 

Reference City Code 115.10:

Decorations are allowed 10 days before and removed two weeks following Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day.
