Bondurant Appointing to Fill City Council Vacancy

A vacancy is occurring on City Council effective January 1, 2022 when Council Member Elrod is sworn in as Mayor. The City Council discussed the issues of whether to appoint or call for a special election at its November 15 council meeting. Ultimately, due to the cost of a special election and that there were two candidates for two council seats in the most recent election, the Council made the determination to appoint to fill the vacancy. The individual will serve in the role until the certification of the regular City Council election scheduled for November 2023.

The Council encourages all interested parties to submit a letter of interest and resume to City Hall at info@cityofbondurant.com by noon on December 6, 2021. Interviews will be held the week of December 13. An appointment would be expected to be made later in December 2021 or in early January 2022.
