2023 Youth Activity Bus

DART (Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority) provides bus service from Bondurant to the Altoona Aquatic Park, Adventureland Resort, and Altoona Cinemark Theater. There is no fee to ride the bus; however, pool admission at the Altoona Aquatics Park is $10 per day or $112 for a 12-day card. Season passes are available for $130/per individual plus a fee per additional family member. Adventureland Resort admission rates vary. Please access Adventureland Resort admission prices on their website. The bus drop-off will be at Adventureland Inn - the kids are required to go into Adventureland Inn and obtain a wristband to ride the trolly to Adventureland Resort. The Altoona Cinemark Theatre has a select number of showings in the afternoon available in the summer months – the start time will have to be between 12:30-1:30 in order to conclude before the 4:00 pm activity bus pick-up time.

Parents are welcome to join, but single adult riders are not permitted.

Length of the program: June 7 - August 4

Sign up your child each week before noon on Monday.

Have your child at the bus stop ready by noon. Pickup will begin at noon.

Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by someone at least 14 years of age who will be responsible for them during their trip and youth activity. If your child takes the bus to the various locations, he or she is not obligated to ride the bus back to Bondurant. The City is not responsible for children getting onto the bus, for monitoring children at bus stops, or for their time participating in the various activities. It is the child’s responsibility to get on the bus before its departure. If a child misses the bus, their parent or guardian is responsible for picking them up.

The bus will leave the Aquatic Center at 4:00 p.m. and drops off passengers at the same (bus stop) locations they were picked up from.

Every Monday morning, the weather will be assessed. If there is a 50% or more chance of incremental weather in the area, the Youth Activity Bus will NOT stop at the Altoona Aquatic Park.
