Honorable Mayor, Doug Elrod
Mayor Doug Elrod was elected as Bondurant’s Mayor in November 2021 and began his four-year term in January 2022. Prior to becoming Mayor, Doug served on the City Council for six years (2015 – 2021). Doug has a B.A. in Criminology and Spanish from the University of Northern Iowa and is a Commercial Claims Manager at Nationwide in the Agribusiness Department, holding an AIC Professional Insurance Designation.
Mayor Elrod represents Bondurant on multiple regional boards and commissions, most notably on the Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Committee. He also recently completed a year serving as the Des Moines Area Transit Commission Chair. Doug is married with three children and is an active supporter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and previously participated in Habitat for Humanity and other United Way Campaigns.
