Temporary Closure of Lake Petocka Park and Bondurant Dog Park for Trail Rehabilitation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lake Petocka Park

Lake Petocka Park, including its scenic trail, and Pawtocka the Bondurant Dog Park will undergo a temporary closure from Monday, October 9th, 2023, through Thursday, October 12th, 2023, to facilitate necessary trail rehabilitation.

During this period, construction contractors will commence work to rejuvenate the existing trail encircling Lake Petocka. This involves preparing the trail's foundation for a brand-new asphalt surface. The project is expected to span 3 to 4 days.

For the safety of all residents and to ensure the uninterrupted progress of this vital enhancement, we kindly request that all park visitors, both vehicular and pedestrians, refrain from using the park facilities during the closure period. The shelter areas will not be accessible.

The public restrooms from the Chichaqua Valley Trail will be open and accessible. The Bondurant Recreational Sports Complex will be available and accessible. Lake Petocka Park, the Lake Petocka Trail, and the Pawtocka Dog Park will not be available.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated as we strive to improve the overall park experience.
