Pawtocka Dog Park Unleashes a Tail-Wagging Grand Opening in Bondurant, Iowa

Get ready for a bone-crunching celebration at the highly anticipated Grand Opening of Pawtocka Dog Park in Bondurant, Iowa. Located at 521 Pleasant St NE, this unique park is designed for dogs and their devoted owners.

Pawtocka Dog Park is the result of the hard work and dedication of the Bondurant Dog Park Committee, a group of passionate dog lovers who initiated the project in 2019. The committee collaborated with the local school district, engaging students in designing the Bondurant Dog Park Committee logo, then used it to begin raising awareness and fundraising. The Bondurant Dog Park Committee raised more than $15,000 in private donations, demonstrating the strong community support for this endeavor.

The additional generous support of funding programs, including Prairie Meadows' Community Betterment Grant funds, Lowe's Hometowns Grant Program, Iowa Economic Development Authority Rural Innovation Grant, and the Polk County Community Betterment Grant Program, added $57,000 in outside funding to make the dog park a reality.

The park features a wide array of agility obstacles, including starter platforms, a canine condo, weave posts, jumping hoops, and a recycled crawl tunnel with a dog house for sun coverage. A notable addition is a custom a-frame scaler, creatively designed by the talented students of Bondurant-Farrar Industrial/Tech and the esteemed graduate of 2023, art student Colton Vance. This collaboration with the local youth not only adds a touch of hometown pride but also provides them with valuable design and construction skills.

The Grand Opening of Pawtocka Dog Park will take place on Friday, July 21, starting at 5:00 p.m. Join us for an unforgettable experience as we kick off the festivities with a unique bone crunch.
