City staff is thankful for the great programs through Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA). The mission of IEDA is to strengthen economic and community vitality by building partnerships and leveraging resources to make Iowa the choice for people and business. Bondurant received a $12,600 grant for 45 hotspots and 6 tablets for the Bondurant Community Library to help our students with online learning!  Library staff had identified access to technology as a prevalent need across our community. As part of a statewide, coordinated response to suppress or eliminate the community spread of COVID-19, City facilities and Bondurant schools have been closed to the general public. The closures created the need to provide virtual content to students to continue their learning as well as to Library patrons to continue to provide services. The City and the school district coordinated to assess technology and internet gaps to determine how to mitigate the impact across the community. The value added by the ability to purchase more hotspots for the community during this time is immeasurable. The City of Bondurant believes in partnership, the same way IEDA does and is pleased to strengthen our partnerships with other public and community organization to help each other during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The City is also grateful for the opportunities created by the CDBG grant to enhance technology access for Library patrons.
