[BONDURANT, IA — August 29, 2023] In a remarkable journey that began in 1989, a dynamic partnership emerged between Polk County and Prairie Meadows, united by a noble mission: channeling Prairie Meadows' revenue back into the heart of the community. Fast forward three decades and the fruits of this collaboration have soared to new heights, with a monumental infusion of over $1.8 Billion into local non-profits and transformative infrastructure projects. Nestled in the heart of this success story is the vibrant City of Bondurant. This year, driven by the mix of funding from the Polk County Betterment Program and other funding sources, Bondurant is improving its hometown feel.

The Bondurant Recreational Sports Complex (BRSC) Trail Connection is set to transform leisure and connectivity. With an ambitious plan to link Lake Petocka, BRSC, and the northern housing complexes, the City is pursuing grant funding from various programs. The initial step in this journey comes courtesy of the Polk County Betterment Program, which has presented a grant of $2,500 to Bondurant. Additionally, the City has secured a $100,000 Land and Water Conservation Grant, a $23,673 Resource Enhancement and Protection Grant, and a generous $40,000 Prairie Meadows Grant for this project. The City is committed to securing additional grants and actively participating in bringing this trail connection to life.

Revolutionizing the urban experience, downtown Bondurant is poised for a parking transformation. The Bondurant Chamber of Commerce is steering this evolution by actively seeking grants to include additional parking. A significant leap forward was taken as the Polk County Betterment Program permitted the Chamber with a $5,500 grant. But the Chamber, in harmony with the City and dedicated partners, will continue their efforts for further funding and collective contributions, as they work to elevate the downtown experience.

Meanwhile, knowledge meets innovation at the Bondurant Community Library, where modernity and accessibility converge. Thanks to the benevolence of the Polk County Betterment Program, the library's new tablet station signals a new era of tech-savvy learning. A generous amount of $5,000 from the program has set the stage for the tablet station. Joining forces with the Bondurant Community Library Foundation and the Friends of the Bondurant Community Library, this tech-driven dream is driven by the support and enthusiasm of the community.
