Bondurant, Iowa - The Highway 65 Underpass: A Milestone for Bondurant's Progress to Connect the Gay Lea Wilson Trail
[BONDURANT, IA — September 21, 2023] In an exciting milestone for the City of Bondurant, the long-anticipated Highway 65 Underpass project is nearing completion. Identified as a top priority in the City's capital improvement plan, this project has been in the works for over a decade.
The Gay Lea Wilson Underpass, a vital component of this project, now provides a safe and accessible route for bicyclists and pedestrians to cross the highway. This not only ensures the safety of our residents but also facilitates convenient access to schools and strengthens community connections. Furthermore, this trail will eventually connect the Gay Lea Wilson Trail in Bondurant to Altoona, enhancing regional connectivity.
As Bondurant continues to evolve, the City is diligently working on the Central Park project, bridging the gap between Bondurant and Altoona. This development will further enhance the quality of life for our residents and foster a sense of unity within our community.
