Carly S, Children's Librarian

Carly began working at the Bondurant Community Library in January of 2024. Her work in the position of Children’s Librarian includes Toddler and Baby Story Times as well as outreach services to various daycare centers within Bondurant. Carly’s previous library experience includes the Pleasant Hill Public Library as a Library Technician and Brubaker Elementary School as the Library Associate. She received her Bachelor’s in English from the University of Northern Iowa in 2019 and will receive her Master’s in Library and Information Science in May of 2024 from the University of Iowa.

Carly is passionate about childhood literacy and early-childhood socialization. Though she did not spend time in libraries when she was a child, her goal is to connect with children who may not know the incredible services that exist within the library and bolster the upcoming generations with a love for reading and imagination.

When she’s not at the library, Carly enjoys reading, playing board games with her family, watching garbage TV, and spending quality time with her husband and dogs.
