Use Water Wisely

The City of Bondurant buys the water homeowners and businesses use from Des Moines Water Works.

The Raccoon River's flow is very low right now due to ongoing drought conditions and the demand for water is very high. The demand has triggered the City of Bondurant to implement a water shortage plan. View the Water Shortage Plan here.

Des Moines Water Works CEO Ted Corrigan also wants to assure all customers that water coming from their tap is safe to drink.

Landscape irrigation makes up a large portion of water consumption, particularly during the warmer months of the year. There are many sophisticated automated, in-ground lawn sprinkler systems in use today; however, these systems require regular maintenance to operate efficiently. Even the most properly maintained system can be operated unwisely.

Des Moines Water Works encourages central Iowa businesses and homeowners to USE WATER WISELY, view the Water Shortage Plan here. By improving the efficiency of irrigation practices, businesses and homeowners can reduce consumption, save money, and reduce the peak load on water facilities.
