The City of Bondurant will begin implementing a program to help reduce a growing concern within the community of excessive speed through residential neighborhoods by implementing radar feedback signage. These signs will provide several different benefits by providing visual feedback to motorists as well as collecting data on traffic counts and speed data to help City Staff have an accurate understanding of conditions to make informed decisions on traffic calming measures.

City staff is well aware of the areas of town that residents have shared concerns with in the past and these are areas that we intend to deploy these signs in. We want to be clear that this equipment can not be on every street in every neighborhood at all times, but the intention is to move these around the community to raise awareness for motorists.

The City of Bondurant is continuously looking at new procedures and technology to make our community a better and safer place to live and work in. As always, we encourage every resident to do their part when traveling through the community to do so in a safe manner.

Any questions about the program or how the feedback signage works can be directed to the Public Works Department and we will also provide updates and information on the City website.
