The City of Bondurant would like to remind residents that the use of fireworks is limited to July 3rd from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. and July 4th from 2:00 to 11:00 p.m.
No fireworks are to be set off within city limits at any other time.

Who is allowed to discharge fireworks?
Those discharging fireworks must be 18 years of age (or in the immediate presence of a parent or guardian with consent to supervise) and cannot show signs of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Who's responsible for the firework debris?
The person discharging the fireworks is responsible for clearing the debris from the discharge.
Are there firework discharge location restrictions?
An individual cannot explode consumer fireworks within 600 feet of the property line of a property containing any structure which offers combustible material for sale; a medical clinic, hospital, child care facility, or senior living facility. Awareness
There are people in our community whose emotional and physical health is greatly impacted by the noise. For someone who isn’t aware that there will be a sudden loud and terrifying sound of fireworks overhead, it can feel like an assault. People with PTSD are especially affected by this noise. If you have ever had the experience of being shot at, you would understand why this is such a terrifying sound. Please, if you are one who has been repeatedly igniting fireworks, we implore you to stop.
Please be considerate of those in your neighborhood who have PTSD, stress-related illnesses that can be life-threatening, senior parents with Alzheimer’s who are confused and frightened by the sounds, children with sensory illnesses who are hiding in their bedrooms because they are overwhelmed by the constant popping and loud booms, or animals who have to be medicated to get through the week.
We recognize that Independence Day is supposed to be celebrated. But please be considerate of those who fought for your freedom and who might be suffering from the effects of battle. There is a reason that fireworks were illegal for home purchase and use. And if you don’t care about it being illegal, at least be considerate of those who don’t want to be constantly triggered by the sudden sounds that are eerily familiar to combat.
