CITY RECEIVES $500,000 TO FUND TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT THE
HWY 65/32ND ST. INTERSECTION
The Iowa Department of Transportation has informed the City of Bondurant that it will receive $500,000 in funding for turn lane construction and traffic signal installation at the U.S. Hwy 65/32nd St. intersection. Funds are available as of 7/1/13. Estimated cost for the project is $716,000. The City has two other funding applications pending. Decisions on those applications are anticipated by the end of January. City funds are also available. The exact amount of City funds needed won’t be known until a decision is made on the remaining applications. The City hopes to complete the project by 12/31/13, but a specific construction schedule likely won’t be known for several months. Numbers of Wolf Creek residents have expressed interest in seeing traffic signals at this intersection. There is now no doubt that signals will be installed.
