CHICHAQUA VALLEY TRAIL CONNECTION
PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING

The City of Bondurant held a Public Information Meeting at 6:00 p.m. on July 25 at the Bondurant City Hall, 200 2nd St. NE, to discuss plans to connect the City of Bondurant 2nd St./Lake Petocka Trail with the existing Chichaqua Valley Trailhead on 88th St. The proposed concrete trail is ten feet wide and approximately one mile long. Construction costs are estimated at $610,000. The City has allocated $150,000 of City funds for this project and is seeking funding for the remaining costs.
The City has contracted with Shive-Hattery for trail design services. Trail design is essentially completed. Display boards showing the proposed location of the trail and a verbal description of the project were presented at the meeting. if you have questions or comments about this project. The City is also developing a Concept Plan for a Trailhead to be built in downtown Bondurant. The trailhead will be located along an existing trail section which connects to the Chichaqua Valley Trail. The trailhead will include parking, restrooms, a covered shelter, landscaping and a plaza area. A display board showing the proposed Trailhead will also be presented at the Public Information Meeting.
