[Bondurant, Iowa, March 30, 2020] The City of Bondurant parks and trails are currently open to the public for recreation but due to COVID-19, effective 8:30 p.m. on March 30, 2020 playground equipment and shelter houses in all city parks, as well as the basketball court (in City Park), are closed until further notice. All park restrooms remain closed and water fountains are turned off. Lake Petocka remains open for individual sports such as fishing and kayaking and trails remain open, with the recommendation to continue to observe social distancing measures. The greenspace in area parks remains available for individual use with adherence to social distancing measures. Team sports, pickup games, and contact play are prohibited.

The City will not install caution tape or fencing at the parks; residents are asked to do their part to keep family, friends, neighbors, and our community safe. Signage will be posted at each park regarding the closure. The City’s priority is protecting the health and safety of our residents and continuing to serve you.

While visiting any public space, use your best judgment and act responsibly; bring your own sanitation supplies with you and adhere to recommended guidelines of keeping social gatherings to fewer than 10 people and observing social distancing standards. If you do not feel well or have been sick, stay home.
