Bondurant Emergency Services Recognizes 9/11/01

Bondurant 9-11 Remembrance Art

Bondurant, September 11, 2019 --

BONDURANT, Iowa – Bondurant Emergency Services is humbled and honored to have been asked to fly two flags in remembrance of the 9/11/01 attacks that killed 2,996 people. The flags were loaned to them by Glen Laures. If you can, please pay tribute to those that were injured and lost in the four attacks that day.

The New York flag is the casket flag of Chief Dennis Lawrence Devlin. Chief Devlin was a Battalion Chief 3 for Division 3 for Battalions 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 on Manhattan, NY’s west side. Division 3 was home to the collapse team. Chief Devlin was on his day off when the attacked happened. He went into work to help and was in the towers trying to help evacuate people when they collapsed. Chief Devlin was Glen Laures’s cousin.

The other flag is an airbrushed flag given to Glen by family members of Engine 7. Engine 7 is located downtown a couple of blocks from where the Twin Towers stood on Duane Street.
