Iowa has made great strides in health and wellness since Governor Branstad announced the goal of becoming the healthiest state in the nation by 2016. In fact, since his announcement in the fall of 2011, Iowa has already jumped from 19th to 16th healthiest state in the nation on the Gallop-Healthways Well-being Index. We are moving in the right direction, but we have a long way to go.
