Purpose of the City of Bondurant Comprehensive Plan

A comprehensive plan is a map to a planned future. Like a map there are different routes and different destinations. This plan routes a map to a location, that route and even that exact destination will change in the future. This map will be monitored continuously and as new roads, or destinations are chosen, the plan will change to reflect them. This plan will provide criteria to measure alternatives against. Developments and Capital projects will not be declined nor supported simply because of this plan. The plan will be a growing active document like the city itself.

This document will provide the continuity between the day-to-day operations, and the short and long-range goals. The comprehensive plan will be the umbrella that other documents (zoning ordinances, subdivision regulations, capital improvement plan, budget projections, et al) live under.

This plan will provide a reference for scrutinizing of decisions impacting the future.

Organization of the City of Bondurant Comprehensive Plan

Each chapter is a stand-alone document as well as being included in the Comprehensive Plan. Chapters will be updated and modified in a way to minimize the effect on the remaining document.
