Supplies are limited! Only those who pre-order before March 31, 2011, will be able to pick up a rain barrel at this workshop. Save money on water for gardening projects and help reduce storm water run-off. One rain barrel is now available for viewing at City Hall. Please note that your rain barrel may come in different colors than the one at City Hall.
The barrels will be partially pre-assembled, and made with 55 gallon non-toxic plastic drums, but residents will be responsible for attaching spigots and for placement of rain barrels at their homes, including attaching their house gutters to the barrel. Information regarding proper placement, a list of contractors willing to install the barrels (for residents who don’t like DIY projects), and other information regarding water conservation and rain gardens will be provided at the workshop. For the DIY crowd, there will even be a rain barrel construction display to see how these barrels were built at less than 1/3 of the cost of most rain barrels on the market.
