Swim Bus
THE SWIM BUS WILL NOT RUN AGAIN UNTIL NEXT JUNE (2011). INFORMATION BELOW IS FROM 2010 SWIM BUS.

The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) is going to provide bus service to the Altoona Aquatic Center this summer. A bus will travel from Bondurant to the Aquatic Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 4 through August 11. The bus will pick up kids in designated areas and drop them off in the same locations later on in the day. There is no fee to ride the bus; however, admission to the pool is $5.75 per day or $57 for a 12 day punch card.
Children under the age of 10 years old must be accompanied by someone at least 14 years of age. If your child takes the bus to the pool, he or she is not obligated to ride the bus back to Bondurant. The City is not responsible for children not returning on the bus. It is the child’s responsibility to get on the bus before its departure from the pool. If your child misses the bus, the parent is responsible for picking him or her up at the pool.

The bus will leave the Aquatic Center at 4:00 p.m. Drop off will be in reverse order of pick up (the last pick up spot will be the first drop off spot, going from H to A). The bus will not stop at any drop off locations that did not have any pick ups. The service is solely dependent on weather conditions. The swim bus will not run on days it is raining.
