A regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, was held in the
Community Room at the Bondurant City Center on the 15th day of October, 2007,
at 6:00 p.m.

Notice of the meeting was posted at the
Bondurant City Center, Casey’s General Stores, Legacy Bank and the United
States Post Office on October 12, 2007.
All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting
was open to the public.
Mayor Pro Tem Bailey called the meeting to
order at 6:05 p.m.
Roll call was taken and
a quorum was
declared.
Motion made by Council Member Adams,
seconded by Council Member Ryan, to approve the agenda as presented. Roll Call:
Adams-Yes, Ryan-Yes, Kromrie-Yes, Bailey-Yes. Motion carried.
Mr. Ron Sinn, 101 – 3rd Street, Northeast, Bondurant, Iowa, again asked
that the area directly across the street from his house be designated “no
parking”.
Council will discuss this at
the next meeting.
Mayor McCoid arrived at 6:08 p.m.
Motion made by Council Member Adams, seconded by Council Member Ryan, to
approve the consent items consisting of the City Council Minutes of October 01,
2007, Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes of June 28, 2007, Library Board of
Trustees Minutes of September 06, September 10, September 22, and September 26,
2007, the Claims Report and Tax Abatement Application for James Dotzler, 319 – 2nd Street, Southeast, Bondurant, Polk
County, Iowa.
Roll Call: Adams-Yes, Ryan-Yes, Kromrie-Abstain, Bailey-Yes. Motion carried.

r. Dan Hagan, Abaci Consulting, Inc., 101 North Circle Drive, Grimes,
Iowa, and Mr. Dave Waters, Waters Construction, 1301 Northwest 78th Street,
Clive, Iowa, presented the revised Site Plan for BIG, LC, Lot 2, Clement
Estates Plat 2, located west of Henry Street, Southwest, Bondurant, Polk
County, Iowa, and answered questions from the Mayor and Council.
Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council
Member Adams, to approve Resolution No. 07-146, a Resolution approving the
revised Site Plan for BIG, LC, Lot 2, Clement Estates, located west of Henry
Street, Southwest, Bondurant, Iowa, provided that additional screening is added
along the north side of the property, particularly in the area of the loading
dock; the building complies with the Architectural Standards Ordinance; appropriate
documentation and recording of the sewer easement is provided and that street
lights are installed on Henry Street consistent with the street light plan
developed by MidAmerican Energy.
A
permanent Certificate of Occupancy will not be provided for the building until
the four items are completed.

Polk County Sheriff’s Department representative Deputy Ballenger
reported signs that are down or need replaced and suggested that additional
speed limit signs are needed on 2nd Street, Northeast.
Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council
Member Adams, to close the regular Council meeting and open the Public Hearing
for consideration of various voluntary annexation applications to the City of
Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa.

Motion carried. The Public Hearing opened at 7:03 p.m. No verbal comments were received during the
Public Hearing.

and open the regular Council meeting.

No. 07-147, a Resolution approving the various voluntary annexation
applications to the City of Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa. Roll Call:

Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council
Member Ryan, to approve Resolution No. 07-148, a Resolution approving the bid
award to DDVI, Albia, Iowa, in the amount of $1,210,000.00 for the general construction
of the Bondurant Public Safety Building project. Roll Call:

presented City of Bondurant Audit for Fiscal Year 2007. Motion made by Council Member Bailey,
seconded by Council Member Adams, to approve Resolution No. 07-151, a
Resolution approving the Financial Statements and Supplementary Data for the
Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2007, prepared by Martens & Company, CPA,
LLP.
Roll Call: Bailey-Yes, Adams-Yes, Ryan-Yes,
Kromrie-Yes.
Motion carried.
