NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special Meeting of the City Council will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2006, in the Bondurant City Center at 200 Second Street, Northeast, Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa. Said meeting is open and the public is encouraged to attend.

A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, was held in the Community Room at the Bondurant City Center on the 28th day of December, 2006, at 6:00 p.m.

Notice of the meeting was posted at the Bondurant City Center, Casey’s General Stores, Legacy Bank and the United States Post Office on December 27, 2006. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.
Mayor McCoid called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. Roll call was taken and a quorum was declared.
Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council Member Adams, to approve the agenda, as presented. Roll Call: Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
Mr. David Harrison, AIA and Mr. Jerry Purdy, AIA, Design Alliance, Inc., 14225 University Avenue, Suite 110, Waukee, Iowa, presented a preliminary design for the proposed Bondurant Public Safety Building (fire station) and answered questions from the Mayor and Council. Council Member Kromrie will supervise the project.
Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council Member Adams, to approve Resolution No. 06-193, a Resolution selecting Design Alliance, Inc., as the architect for the Bondurant Public Safety Building and the approval of the contract for architectural services between the City of Bondurant and Design Alliance, Inc. Roll Call: Bailey-Yes, Adams-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Kromrie-Yes, Ryan-Yes. Motion carried.
Council Member Kromrie left the Council chamber at 6:30 p.m.
Mayor McCoid led a discussion between the City Council Members and the Planning and Zoning Commission Members relating to proposed Ordinance No. 06-204 – Architectural

Standards – Chapter 179. A final draft was agreed upon by both the City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Council Member Kromrie returned at 7:02 p.m.
Mayor McCoid and Council Member Cordes left the Council chamber at 7:21 p.m. and returned at 7:28 p.m.
Motion made by Council Member Cordes, seconded by Council Member Adams, to approve Resolution No. 06-194, a Resolution calling an election on the proposition of entering into a loan agreement to borrow money in an amount not exceeding $2,300,000 for the purposes of paying the cost, to that extent, of constructing, furnishing and equipping a new municipal library and a new municipal public safety building (fire station). Roll Call: Cordes-Yes, Adams-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Kromrie-Yes, Ryan-Yes. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Adams, seconded by Council Member Cordes, to adjourn the meeting at 8:33 p.m. Roll Call: Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
