NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special Meeting of the City Council will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2006, in the Bondurant City Center at 200 Second Street, Northeast, Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa. Said meeting is open and the public is encouraged to attend.

A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, was held in the Community Room at the Bondurant City Center on the 20th day of April, 2006, at 6:00 p.m.

Notice of the meeting was posted at the Bondurant City Center, Mobile Food Market, Casey’s General Store, and Legacy Bank on April 18, 2006. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.
Mayor McCoid called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. Roll call was taken and a quorum was declared.
Motion made by Council Member Kromrie, seconded by Council Member Cordes, to approve the agenda, as presented. Roll Call: Kromrie-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Adams-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Ryan-Yes. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Kromrie, seconded by Council Member Ryan, to close the regular City Council meeting and open the Public Hearing to consider Ordinance No. 06-202, an Ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, 2002, by adding Provisions Pertaining to Subdivision Design Standards. Roll Call: Kromrie-Yes, Ryan-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Adams-Yes. Motion carried.
Mr. Curt Sullivan, 403 – 14th Street, Southeast, Bondurant, Iowa, asked what are the reasons Council will be considering in amending Ordinance No. 06-202. City Administrator Arentsen said it has to do with the direction that the new homes in the adjacent plats next to the C.O.V.E. Development will face, and this Ordinance will establish consistency with the existing homes in the C.O.V.E. Development. Ordinance No. 06-202 will only apply to a subdivision adjoining a home built before March 01, 2006. Mr. Ray Sauer, 604 – 15th Street, Southeast, Bondurant, Iowa, said that he would like Council to pass Ordinance No. 06-202 for the reasons of continuity and to help solve the drainage issue.

Motion made by Council Member Kromrie, seconded by Council Member Cordes, to close the Public Hearing and open the regular City Council meeting. Roll Call: Kromrie-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Ryan-Yes, Adams-Abstain. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Kromrie, seconded by Council Member Bailey, to waive the first and second reading of Ordinance No. 06-202, an Ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Bondurant, Iowa, 2002, by adding Provisions Pertaining to Subdivision Design Standards, and approve as the third and final reading. Roll Call: Kromrie-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Ryan-Yes, Adams-Abstain. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Kromrie, seconded by Council Member Bailey, to approve Resolution No. 06-53, a Resolution authorizing reimbursement in the amount of $35,000.00 to Mr. Mike Adams, Jr., for Engineering Fees related to the abandoned Lincoln Street, Southeast / U.S. Highway 65 boring project. Roll Call: Kromrie-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Ryan-Yes, Adams-Abstain. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Kromrie, seconded by Council Member Cordes, to approve Resolution No. 06-55, a Resolution establishing the second meeting date in the month of May, 2006, as Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at 6:00 p.m. and the first meeting date in the month of June, 2006, as Wednesday, June 07, 2006, at 6:00 p.m. Roll Call: Kromrie-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Ryan-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Adams-Yes. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council Member Ryan, to adjourn the meeting at 6:32 p.m. Roll Call: Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
