NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special Meeting of the City Council will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2006, in the Bondurant City Center at 200 Second Street, Northeast, Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa.  Said meeting is open and the public is encouraged to attend.

Meeting No. 06-03

 

 

A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, was held in the Community Room at the Bondurant City Center on the 19th day of January, 2006, at 6:00 p.m.

 

 

Present:                Mayor Marla McCoid

                              Council Member Mike Adams, Sr.

                              Council Member Michele R. Bailey

                              Council Member Bruce N. Cordes

                              Council Member Jeffrey A. Kromrie

                              Council Member Keith Ryan

                              City Attorney Matthew S. Brick 

                              Interim City Administrator Mark J. Arentsen

                                       Administrative / Utility Clerk Michelle Wells

                             

Absent:                 None

                             

Notice of the meeting was posted at the Bondurant City Center, Ampride Store, Casey’s General Store, and Legacy Bank on January 18, 2006.  All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.

 

Mayor McCoid called  the meeting to  order at 6:03 p.m.  Roll call  was  taken and  a quorum was declared.

 

Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council Member Ryan, to approve the agenda, as  presented.   Roll Call:  Bailey-Yes, Ryan-Yes, Adams-Yes, Kromrie-Yes, Cordes-Yes.  Motion carried.

 

Mayor McCoid led a discussion concerning an Employment Contract between the City of Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, and Mark J. Arentsen.  Council Member Cordes suggested that since the length of the agreement is from January 16, 2006, through June 30, 2007, there be a review performed approximately midway during 2006 and another review performed approximately in June 2007.  Other issues discussed and agreed upon were automobile allowance, vacation and moving expenses.

 

Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council Member Ryan, to approve Resolution No. 06-03, a Resolution Appointing a Permanent City Administrator and Approval of an Employment Contract of the Same.  Roll Call:  Bailey-Yes, Ryan-Yes, Adams-Yes, Kromrie-Yes, Cordes-Yes.  Motion carried.

 

Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council Member Cordes, to adjourn said meeting at 6:42 p.m.  Ayes:  5.  Nays: 0.  Motion carried.
