Notice of the meeting was posted
at the
Mayor Ihde called the meeting to order at
Motion made by Council Member Cordes, seconded by Council
Member Valentine, to approve the agenda, as presented. Roll Call:
Cordes-Yes, Valentine-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Williams-Yes, Thomas-Yes. Motion carried.
Mayor Ihde presented each Council Member and City Staff with a blue, polo shirt
stitched with the Bondurant logo “On the Move” and a lapel pin.
Mayor Ihde suggested listing Capital Improvements that
Council approved during City Administrator Carlyle’s administration. They included the following: Northeast 62nd Avenue Roadway and Sanitary
Sewer Improvements; Sanitary Lift Station and Force Main Improvements;
Northeast 80th Street Seal Coat; 2nd Street, Northwest Sanitary Sewer
Improvements; 2nd Street, Southeast Resurfacing Project; Water Service
Connection to Des Moines Water Works; Water Meter Change Out Program; 2nd, 3rd,
4th and Railroad Street, Southeast Reconstruction Project; Water Tower
Demolition; Well Abandonment and Water Treatment Facility Demolition; 2nd
Street, Northwest / Northeast Resurfacing Project; U.S. Highway 65 and Grant
Street, South (formerly Iowa Highway 945) Improvements and Signalization
Project; Cemetery Fence Replacement; Hydrant Replacement; Implemented the Toter Program; Installed chain link fence around Public
Works; Updated mowers and Purchased three new trucks for Public Works Staff.

Mayor Ihde led a discussion pertaining to proposed Capital
Improvement Projects, which included Capital Improvement Lists submitted by
City Staff Department Heads. Mayor Ihde
asked Council to list their visions for the City. They included the following: Extend Paine Street, Southeast to connect to
Paine Heights to Meadow Brook, North; Elevated Water Tower; Replacement Funds
for Equipment; Bike Trail; Sidewalk Inspections and Replacements;
Reconstruction on 1st Street, Southeast, from Grant Street, South, to Lincoln
Street, Southeast, and from 2nd Street, Southeast to the railroad tracks on
Main Street, Southeast; Improvements on Snyder Street, Southeast; Update
Infiltration Study; Purchase a Wood Chipper as an Alternative to Burning;
Permanent Restroom Facility at Lake Petocka;
Additional Staffing Needs; 2nd Street, Northwest / Northeast Replacement with
Curb, Gutter and Sidewalks; New Library / Emergency Services Building and
Repairs to Drainage District #30 Lines.
City Administrator Carlyle explained the Capital Improvement
Project Worksheet.
Mayor Ihde distributed a performance evaluation form
pertaining to City Administrator’s Employment Contract, which is up for
renewal. He asked each Council Member to
fill it out and be prepared to discuss it at the

Member Williams, to change the time for the
