NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special Meeting of the City Council will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2003, at the Okoboji Grill Restaurant at 1225 Cooper Creek Drive, Pleasant Hill, Polk County, Iowa. Said meeting is open and the public is encouraged to attend.

A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, was held at the Okoboji Grill Restaurant on the 28th day of July, 2003, at 6:30 p.m.

Present: Mayor Allen G. Ihde

Council Member James M. Valentine

Absent: Administrative / Utility Clerk Michelle Wells

Deputy City Clerk Sandra Rhodes

Notice of the meeting was posted at the Bondurant City Center, Ampride Store, Casey’s General Store, and Legacy Bank on July 25, 2003. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.

Members of the Altoona City Council and Altoona City Management were also present.

Discussion was held relating to the many services shared between the two communities, including building inspection services, EMS billing services, S.C.C.I.C., Eastern Polk Regional Development, North/Northeast Mayors and City Administrators Group, Zoning Code Codification, short term borrowing of supplies/materials/equipment between the cities and joint local events between Bondurant Development, Inc. and the Altoona Chamber of Commerce.

Other discussion was held on the Iowa Highway 945 and Interstate 80 interchange project, and the opportunities of obtaining federal funding for said project; fire services and EMS services in each respective community, and the servicing of the various townships and future collaboration between the two cities on the subject matter; and the Wastewater Reclamation Authority proposed services to both communities.

City Administrators Carlyle and Mark were asked to collaborate on the topics of future annexation plans and land use comprehensive plans. A future meeting of the group was discussed relating to such topics.
