A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, was held in the Community Room at the Bondurant
City Center on the 03rd day of September, 2002, at 6:00 p.m.

Notice of the meeting was posted at the Bondurant City Center, Ampride Store, Casey’s General Store, and Legacy Bank on August 30, 2002. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.
Mayor Ihde called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Roll call was taken and a quorum was
declared.
Mayor Ihde asked that item 7 be added to the agenda and that
said item will be defined as Resolution No. 02-88, a Resolution authorizing all
municipal flags to be lowered to half staff on September 11, 2002. Motion made by Council Member Cordes,
seconded by Council Member Valentine, to approve the agenda, as amended. Roll Call:
Cordes-Yes, Valentine-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Williams-Yes, Thomas-Yes. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Williams, seconded by Council
Member Bailey, to approve the consent items consisting of the City Council Minutes
of August 19, 2002, Metro Waste Authority Minutes of June 19, 2002, the Claims
Report and Tax Abatement Applications for Diagonal Properties, Inc., 906
Washington Avenue-Building #1; Diagonal Properties, Inc., 906 Washington
Avenue-Building #2; and Henry M. Anderson, 401 Deer Ridge Drive, Northwest,
Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa. Roll
Call: Williams-Yes, Bailey-Yes,
Thomas-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Valentine-Yes.
Motion carried.
Polk County Sheriff’s Department Representative Deputy Mike
Tarvin had nothing to report.
Motion made by Council Member Cordes, seconded by Council
Member Valentine, to approve Resolution No. 02-88, a Resolution authorizing all
municipal flags to be lowered to half staff on September 11, 2002. Roll Call:
Cordes-Yes, Valentine-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Williams-Yes, Thomas-Yes. Motion carried.
Mayor Ihde led a discussion regarding proposed Ordinance No.
02-205, an Ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Bondurant,
2002, by adding a Section pertaining to Limitation on

Parking-Specified Vehicles and providing Exceptions
thereof. Council Members voiced
concerns pertaining to the length, width and height of vehicles, time
limitations and the district. City Administrator
Carlyle will research these concerns and draft a new
document for discussion at the September 16, 2002, Council Meeting.

v Asked Council to participate in Bondurant Development, Inc. Business After Hours on September 26, 2002.

Carlyle’s comments:
ü Highlighted communication from City Attorney Brick to Chateau Communities, Inc.
ü Expressed appreciation for the efforts of resident Scott Valentine in assisting City Staff with the recent storm damage cleanup.
ü Informed Council of the Fee Schedule insert for the City Code Books.
