Meeting No. 02-10
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, was held in the Community Room at the Bondurant
City Center on the 06th day of May, 2002, at 6:00 p.m.

Notice of the meeting was posted at the Bondurant City
Center, Ampride Store, Casey’s General Store, and Legacy Bank on May 03,
2002. All proceedings hereafter shown
were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.
Mayor Ihde called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Roll call was taken and a quorum was
declared.
Motion made by Council Member Williams, seconded by Council
Member Bailey, to approve the agenda as presented. Roll call: Ayes: 5.
Nays: 0. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Cordes, seconded by Council
Member Valentine, to approve the consent items consisting of the City Council
Minutes of April 15, 2002, Des Moines
Area MPO Minutes of March 21, 2002, Council Roundtable Minutes of March 20,
2002, Polk County Emergency Management Minutes of January 17, 2002, Polk County
Aviation Authority Minutes of April 04, 2002, Charter Commission Minutes of
April 11, 2002, Eastern Polk Regional Development Minutes of April 11, 2002,
the Claims Report, and Tax Abatement Application for Tim Perry, 304 Crossing
Court, Northwest, Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa. Roll Call: Cordes-Yes,
Valentine-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Williams-Yes, Thomas-Yes. Motion carried.
Polk County Sheriff’s Department Representative Lt.
Jorgenson provided the Council with an overview of the activities for the month
of April.
Iowa House Representative Geri Huser updated the Council
regarding the current State of Iowa Legislative issues.
Motion made by Council Member Valentine, seconded by Council
Member Thomas, to approve Resolution No. 02-55, a Resolution approving the
appointments of Lochlan McIntosh, 305 – 3rd Street,

Southeast, and Rod Sinclair, 402 – 10th Street, Southeast,
to the Bondurant Park and Recreation Board.
Roll Call Valentine-Yes, Thomas-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Williams-Yes,
Cordes-Yes. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Thomas, seconded by Council
Member Valentine, to close the regular City Council meeting and open Public
Hearing to the consider the adoption of the 2002 / 2003 City of Bondurant
Municipal Budget. Roll Call: Thomas-Yes,
Valentine-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Williams-Yes, Cordes-Yes. Motion carried. City
Administrator Carlyle reported no written or verbal comments were received by
his office. No verbal comments were
received during the public hearing.
Motion made by Council Member Valentine, seconded by Council Member
Thomas, to close Public Hearing and open the regular City Council meeting. Roll Call:
Valentine-Yes, Thomas-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Williams-Yes, Cordes-Yes. Motion
carried.
Motion made by Council Member Thomas, seconded by Council
Member Cordes, to approve Resolution No. 02-56, a Resolution adopting the
Fiscal Year 2002 / 2003 Municipal Budget for the City of Bondurant, Polk
County, Iowa. Roll Call: Thomas-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Bailey-Yes,
Williams-Yes, Cordes-Yes. Motion
carried.
Motion made by Council Member Cordes, seconded by Council
Member Thomas, to approve Resolution No. 02-57, a Resolution setting a Public
Hearing date for the 20th day of May, 2002, at 6:00 p.m., for Amending the
Current Budget for the City of Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa. Roll Call:
Cordes-Yes, Thomas-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Valentine-Yes, Williams-Yes. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Williams, seconded by Council
Member Thomas, to approve Resolution No. 02-58, a Resolution waiving the right
to review the preliminary plat for V & V Estates Plat 2, located in rural
Polk County. Roll Call: Williams-Yes, Thomas-Yes, Bailey-Yes,
Cordes-Yes, Valentine-Yes. Motion
carried.
