A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, was held in the Community Room at the Bondurant
City Center on the 15th day of April, 2002, at 6:00 p.m.

Notice of the meeting was posted at the Bondurant City
Center, Ampride Store, Casey’s General Store, and Legacy Bank on April 12,
2002. All proceedings hereafter shown
were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.
Mayor Ihde called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Roll call was taken and a quorum was
declared.
Motion made by Council Member Cordes, seconded by Council
Member Thomas, to approve the agenda as presented. Roll call: Ayes: 5.
Nays: 0. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council
Member Valentine, to approve the consent items consisting of the City Council
Minutes of April 01, 2002, Bondurant Community Library Board Minutes of March
07, 2002, Polk County Aviation Authority Minutes of March 07, 2002, the Claims
Report and Financial Reports. Roll

Polk County Sheriff’s Department Representative Lt.
Jorgenson provided the Council with an overview of the activities for the month
of March.
Motion made by Council Member Williams, seconded by Council
Member Bailey, to close the regular City Council meeting and open Public
Hearing to consider the proposed lease of a portion of real estate (undeveloped)
Adjacent to the City Center to Thomas E. Polito. Roll Call: Williams-Yes,
Bailey-Yes, Valentine-Yes, Thomas-Yes, Cordes-Yes. Motion carried. City
Administrator Carlyle reported no written or verbal comments were received by
his office. No verbal comments were
received during the public hearing.

Member Valentine, to approve Resolution No. 02-47, a Resolution approving the
Lease Agreement between Thomas E. Polito and the City of Bondurant, Polk
County, Iowa, for the west 50 feet of the east 200 feet of Lot 26 of Tuft’s
Acres, Plat 1, an official plat now in and forming a part of the City of
Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa. Roll

Metro Waste Authority Executive Director Tom Hadden
presented a check in the amount of $461.50 to Keep Bondurant Beautiful
Representative Barbara Birchmier.
Park and Recreation Board Member Kathy Sylvester introduced
Bondurant-Farrar Community School Student Council Members Matt Hawkins and Erin
Nielsen, who presented information to Council of the upcoming 5K Road Run/Walk
Race, sponsored by the Bondurant-Farrar Community School District and B-F
Student Council, scheduled for April 20, 2002, at 9:00 a.m.
Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council
Member Valentine, to approve Resolution No. 02-53, a Resolution granting
permission to close certain streets and intersections on April 20, 2002, within
the City of Bondurant, from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Roll Call: Bailey-Yes,
Valentine-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Thomas-Yes, Williams-Yes. Motion carried.
