A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, was held in the Community Room at the Bondurant
City Center on the 18th day of March, 2002, at 7:00 p.m.

Notice of the meeting was posted at the Bondurant City
Center, Ampride Store, Casey’s General Store, and Legacy Bank on March 15,
2002. All proceedings hereafter shown
were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.
Mayor Ihde called the meeting to order at 7:01p.m. Roll call was taken and a quorum was
declared.
Motion made by Council Member Williams, seconded by Council
Member Bailey, to approve the agenda, as presented. Roll call: Ayes: 5.
Nays: 0. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Cordes, seconded by Council
Member Valentine, to approve the consent items consisting of the City Council
Minutes of March 04, 2002, Polk County Aviation Authority Minutes of February
07, 2002, Eastern Polk Regional Development Minutes of February 21, 2002, Polk
County Conference Board Minutes of February 27, 2002, Bondurant Community
Library Board Minutes of February 07, 2002, the Claims Report and Financial
Reports. Roll Call: Cordes-Yes, Valentine-Yes, Bailey-Yes,
Williams-Yes, Thomas-Yes. Motion
carried.
Polk County Sheriff’s Department Representative Lt.
Jorgenson introduced Officer Lee Deeds to Council.
Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council
Member Cordes, to close the regular City Council meeting and open Public
Hearing pertaining to the Adoption of the City of Bondurant Zoning Code,
Subdivision Regulations and Sign Code.
Roll Call: Bailey-Yes, Cordes-Yes,

Yes, Thomas-Yes, Valentine-Yes. Motion carried. City
Administrator Carlyle reported no written or verbal comments were received by
his office. No verbal comments were
received during the public hearing.
Motion made by Council Member Williams, seconded by Council Member
Bailey, to close Public Hearing and open the regular City Council meeting. Roll Call:
Williams-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Thomas-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Valentine-Yes. Motion
carried.

Motion made by Council Member Cordes, seconded by Council
Member Bailey, to suspend the first and second reading of Ordinance No. 02-201,
an Ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Bondurant, Polk
County, Iowa, by amending/updating the Zoning Code, Subdivision Regulations and
Sign Code. Roll Call: Cordes-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Williams-Yes,
Thomas-Yes, Valentine-Yes. Motion
carried.
Motion made by Council Member Williams, seconded by Council
Member Bailey, to approve Resolution No. 02-30, a Resolution appointing Marty
Lester, 302 Crossing Court, Northwest, to the Bondurant Park and Recreation
Board. Roll Call: Williams-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Thomas-Yes, Cordes-Yes,
Valentine-Yes. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council
Member Cordes, to approve Resolution No. 02-31, a Resolution waiving the right
to review the Preliminary and Final Plats for Rowen Acres, located in rural
Polk County. Roll Call: Bailey-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Williams-Yes,
Thomas-Yes, Valentine-Yes. Motion
carried.
Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council
Member Thomas, to approve Resolution No. 02-32, a Resolution approving the
streetlight proposal for Fieldview Plat No. 1.

Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council
Member Cordes, to approve Resolution No. 02-33, a Resolution setting a Public
Hearing date for the 15th day of April, 2002, at six o’clock p.m. concerning
the Proposed Lease of a Portion of Real Estate adjacent to the City
Center. Roll Call: Bailey-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Williams-Yes,
Thomas-Yes, Valentine-Yes. Motion
carried.
Motion made by Council Member Bailey, seconded by Council
Member Valentine, to approve Resolution No. 02-34, a Resolution approving
amendments to SRF Loan Agreement and Amending Resolution No. 98-99, adopted
October 05, 1998. Roll Call: Bailey-Yes, Valentine-Yes, Williams-Yes,
Thomas-Yes, Cordes-Yes. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Williams, seconded by Council
Member Bailey, to approve Resolution No. 02-35, a Resolution approving the
Agreement for Water Meter Installation between the City of Bondurant, Polk
County, Iowa, and Maintenance Consultants of Gilbert, Iowa. Roll Call:
Williams-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Thomas-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Valentine-Yes. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Williams, seconded by Council
Member Valentine, to approve Resolution No. 02-36, a Resolution approving the
Agreement for Sanitary Sewer Televising between the City of Bondurant, Polk
County, Iowa and Service Tech, Inc. of Gilbert, Iowa. Roll Call: Williams-Yes,
Valentine-Yes, Bailey-Yes, Thomas-Yes, Valentine-Yes. Motion carried.
Fire Chief Poffenberger updated Council regarding air bottle
purchase, proposed vehicle replacement and limited space. No action taken by the Council.
