A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, was held in the Community Room at the Bondurant
City Center on the 18th day of December, 2000, at 7:00 p.m.

Notice of the meeting was posted at the Bondurant City
Center, Break Pointe Store, Casey’s General Store, and Farmers Savings Bank on
December 15, 2000. All proceedings here
after shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.

Ihde called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
Roll call was taken and a quorum was declared.
Motion made by Council Member Cordes, seconded by Council Member Valentine, to approve the agenda as presented. Roll call: Cordes-Yes; Valentine-Yes; Thomas-Yes. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Valentine, seconded by Council Member Thomas, to approve the consent items consisting of the City Council Minutes of December 04, 2000, Board of Adjustments Minutes of April 18, 2000, Polk County Aviation Authority Minutes of November 09, 2000, the Claims Report and Tax Abatement Application for Roy M. McCleary, 900 Grant Street, South, Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa. Roll Call: Valentine-Yes, Thomas-Yes, Cordes-Yes. Motion carried.
Polk County Sheriff’s Department representative reported that they notified residents who were violating the snow ordinance.
Motion made by Council Member Cordes, seconded by Council Member Thomas, to approve Resolution No. 00-105, a Resolution approving Progressive Payment Request No. 2, relating to the Water Main Improvements Project-Connection to DMWW Water Main, in the amount of $82,407.23. Roll Call: Cordes-Yes, Thomas-Yes, Valentine-Yes. Motion carried.
City Administrator Carlyle reported to the Council the financial commitment supporting the Iowa Events Center begins in the year 2002-2003. The City of Bondurant can re-consider the financial commitment at anytime.
Motion made by Council Member Cordes, seconded by Council Member Valentine, to approve Resolution No. 00-106, a Resolution expressing support for the Iowa Events Center project and

providing for a commitment of local funding. Roll Call: Cordes-Yes, Valentine-Yes, Thomas-Yes. Motion carried.
City Administrator Carlyle reported that all connections have been made on the DMWW Water Main Project with the exception of the connection at 64th Street, Southeast. The weather has delayed this connection. Also due to the weather, a meeting with Des Moines Water Works and Bondurant City Staff has also been cancelled and re-scheduled for January 03, 2001. The fire hydrant replacement project will be addressed in the spring.
Motion made by Council Member Thomas, seconded by Council Member Cordes, to approve Resolution No. 00-107, a Resolution approving an invoice from Des Moines Water Works, relating to the Water Main Improvements Project-Connection to DMWW Water Main, in the amount of $466,466.68. Roll Call: Thomas-Yes, Cordes-Yes, Valentine-Yes. Motion carried.

· Highlighted correspondence from Iowa League of Cities expressing appreciation for participating
in the Clerk Mentor Program.
· Highlighted correspondence from Bondurant-Farrar Schools expressing appreciation of joint cooperation with building project .

v Informed Council of
meeting with Coventry HealthCare and City Staff on December 07, 2000.
v Highlighted invitation to City Staff Potluck Luncheon on
December 22, 2000.
v Updated Council on communications sent to the Bondurant-
Farrar Schools dated December 07, 2000 and December 11, 2000 regarding the
Anderson Elementary School Addition/Sanitary Sewer Realignment. Stanley Consultants will give a joint
presentation to the Bondurant-Farrar School Board and Bondurant City Council on
January 08, 2001 at 5:30 p.m. at the Media Center-Bondurant Farrar High School.

Discharge issue.
Motion made by Council Member Valentine, seconded by Council Member Cordes, to adjourn said meeting at 7:59 p.m. Roll call: Ayes: 3. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
