REGULAR MEETING
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, was held in the Community Room at the Bondurant City
Center on the 17th day of July, 2000, at 7:00 p.m.

Notice of the meeting was posted at the Bondurant City Center,
Break Pointe Store, Casey’s General Store, and Farmers Savings Bank on July 14,
2000. All proceedings here after shown
were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.

Ihde called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Roll call was taken and a quorum was declared.
Motion made by Council Member Cordes, seconded by Council Member Valentine, to approve the agenda as presented. Roll call: Cordes-Yes; Valentine-Yes; Bailey-Yes; Williams-Yes; Thomas-Yes. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Thomas, seconded by Council Member Cordes, to approve the Consent Items consisting of the City Council Minutes of July 03, 2000; Eastern Polk Regional Development Minutes of June 08, 2000; Polk County Aviation Authority Minutes of June 08, 2000; the Claims Report and Financial Reports; and Tax Abatement Application for Eric and Jennifer Nicholson, 403 – 10th Street, Southeast, Bondurant, Polk County, Iowa, as presented. Roll call: Thomas-Yes; Cordes-Yes; Bailey-Yes; Valentine-Yes; Williams-Yes. Motion carried.
Mr. Jeff Harden and Mr. Chad Bridges, City of Altoona Building Inspectors were present. Effective August 1, 2000, Building Inspection services will be provided to the City of Bondurant by the City of Altoona.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Department representative reported that progress is being made on vandalism in the City. City Administrator Carlyle reported that the Sheriff’s Department has been working with the City on enforcement of Ordinance 200-00 and the Sheriff’s Department has been asked to attend the next Ragbrai meeting on July 19, 2000.
Mr. Steve Brush representing U.S. Filter presented the Council with a 3 Year Change Out Proposal for water and sewer meters. Mr. Brush explained that the first phase will consist of installing 140 water and

sewer meters. Installation of meters will be contracted by Maintenance Consultants. Appointments with homeowners will be coordinated through the Bondurant City Center and Maintenance Consultants. Mr. Brush also explained the time savings and accuracy benefits for both City Center staff and field employees.
Motion made by Council Member Cordes, and seconded by Council Member Williams, to approve Resolution No. 00-56,a Resolution approving the Three Year Change Out Proposal from U.S. Filters. Roll Call: Cordes-Yes; Williams-Yes; Bailey-Yes; Valentine-Yes; Thomas-Yes. Motion carried.
Motion made by Council Member Williams, and seconded by Council Member Valentine, to approve Resolution 00-57,a Resolution waiving the rights to review the preliminary plat for Newby Farms Rural Subdivision, located in unincorporated Polk County, Iowa. Roll Call: Williams-Yes; Valentine-Yes; Bailey-Yes; Thomas-Yes; Cordes-Yes. Motion carried.
